In 2017, the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan signed a decree "On the translation of the alphabet of the Kazakh language from Cyrillic to Latin graphics".

By order of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the National Commission for the translation of the alphabet of the Kazakh language into Latin graphics was established.

The action plan for the phased transition of the Kazakh alphabet to the Latin script has been developed until 2025, 4 working groups on spelling, methodological, terminological, technical and information support have been created. The decree of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan "On the establishment of the non-profit joint-stock company "National Scientific and Practical Center "Til-Kazyna" named after Shaysultan Shayakhmetov" was also issued.

The concept of the spelling rule of the Kazakh alphabet based on Latin graphics has been developed. Based on the Concept, scientists of the A.Baitursynov Institute of Linguistics have developed a project "New rules of spelling of the Kazakh language".

The information and educational newspaper "Til-Qazyna", first published in Latin graphics, is presented. The electronic version of the newspaper is offered to the reader through the Tilalemi websites.kz», «Tilqazyna.kz».

In 2018, the Ministry of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan implemented a number of information technology projects. In particular, a national portal has been created "Qazlatyn.kz ", which contains information and all data on the progress of the transition to the Latin schedule. In 2019, in order to teach children the Kazakh alphabet, a cartoon "IQdos" in 3 D format was developed, a title in the Latin alphabet for the animated film "Selten Seri" was created, dubbed in the state language.

Training classes on learning the spelling rules of the new alphabet have been opened in the Til-Kazyna center. Classrooms are equipped with the necessary equipment and equipment for conducting courses. The classrooms have the opportunity to establish contacts with scientists, methodologists, and conduct online seminars in the republic, as well as abroad.

After the instruction of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan K.K. Tokayev to improve the approved alphabet based on Latin graphics dated October 21, 2019, scientists of the spelling working group conducted a scientific and practical approbation of the approved alphabet. More than 40 projects based on Latin graphics were considered, discussed and analyzed by scientists with the direct participation of the authors of the alphabet projects.

In accordance with the instructions of the Administration of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, on March 4-5, 2020, an open republican discussion was held in all regions of the country with the participation of philologists from universities, colleges and schools, teachers and methodologists of the Kazakh language, which was attended by 630 specialists. The form of discussion is the introduction to the composition of the draft improved alphabet of signs C, W, X developed by members of the Spelling Working Group and the marking of sounds i, i, w, y, assignment of signs to sounds c, h. 9 regions of the country supported the improved alphabet project developed by the members of the Spelling Working Group. 16 regions did not introduce the characters C, W, X into the alphabet, supporting only the keyboard, 15 regions opposed the introduction of C and H sounds into the alphabet.

In an emergency situation, work on improving the alphabet continued in an online format.

On April 15, 2020, an online meeting was organized with the participation of members of the Spelling Working Group and scientists
of the A. Baitursynov Institute of Linguistics. On the agenda of the meeting, the sound value of the signs /y / y / i / was considered.

In accordance with the general practice and theory of alphabet construction, from April 20 to May 6, the scientists of the spelling working group held 18 online lectures on phonetics, spelling and the practice of composing the alphabet of the Turkic peoples. The lecture was attended by scientists from all regions of the country, teachers and methodologists of regional training centers. These lectures were shown on Youtube channels and on Facebook social networks online.

Since the order of the President, 3 media plans have been developed, 582 scientific articles on the construction of the alphabet, its principles and individual signs have been published.

Currently, work is underway to discuss individual characters of the improved alphabet.
